How do I treat my melasma?

Hey everyone, I posted a story talking about my melasma treatment. So, I have melasma — melasma is chronic, there's no cure, but there is control. Mine flared up because of menopause, since I'm undergoing hormone therapy.

I didn't sunbathe, but the recent heat itself, even with sunscreen, ended up triggering it along with the hormones. What I've been doing is a daily skincare routine — I don't have much time, honestly, and not much patience for using a lot of creams, being real with you.

So, in the morning I use a serum with brightening actives for the day, which I formulate myself — there are several actives in it. Sunscreen along with makeup, and at lunchtime I really do reapply the sunscreen, because even inside a clinic, light can trigger it.

At night, the nighttime product. So, the first pillar is daily skincare. Second is oral supplementation. What have I been using? Today we have antioxidants that help with photoprotection and are also used for brightening.

That's another video I'll make for you, about which specific actives those are. And for treatment, I've been using the Nd:YAG Q-Switched laser, a laser platform you've seen me undergo that doesn't cause peeling, doesn't irritate the skin, and can be done in the summer.

Now, every treatment is individualized.
